Have You Ever Quit Your Day Job?

It's painful. Like a bad breakup. Just rip off the "I Quit" bandaid.

Sometimes we leave or enter into a new work journey not knowing where it will lead us. I had worked six years behind a desk doing various jobs while growing a photography business. I was a burnt-out full time working employee/portrait photographer and couldn't handle the 9-5 a second longer.

So I ripped off the proverbial bandaid and handed in the letter.

I quite my day job for a part time gig crossing fingers ends would meet. Then, I quit my part-time job on a wing and a prayer.

As with any new skill, I spent a lot of late nights practicing, watching countless you tube tutorials, ⁠I listened to podcasts, I read books and some business lunches with a friend who mentored me.

I had no idea what type of clientele I would have, much less if my stuff would actually sell. Three years in, turns out my clients are a whole lot like me. Self-employed mamas, studying their craft, chasing a dream, and contributing to their family income.

Ya'll - This Is US! ⁠ Turns out you and I are cut from the same cloth. That was a fun discovery.

I LOVE this niche of the digital world. I'm so inspired by each of you, your art, your life circumstances, your vulnerability to manage work/life balance, your wins and your losses. I deeply value the community we have here and love love love that we can support each other on this journey to success.
